We are an Apostolic Pentecostal Church located in beautiful Parkersburg, West Virginia. We are striving to touch the lives of our great city one soul at a time. We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.
What We Believe:
We believe in the inerrancy of the Word of God. That it is timeless, accurate and relevant for the 21st century. It has the answers to this life and the life to come. It has no equal and all men will be judged by its contents.
… the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:21
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable…2 Timothy 3:16
… had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? John 5:46-47
We believe in one Almighty God: He is the creator of the heavens and the earth and all living creatures. He has revealed himself as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption and the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord. Deuteronomy 6:4
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people… Titus 2:14
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 14:18
We believe in the good news of Jesus Christ: The only begotten son of God who was born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life and as our Savior was crucified on Calvary for our sins. He died and was resurrected on the third day as the Scriptures foretold. He has become exalted to be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is the only mediator between God and mankind. As God made visible in the flesh, he was true God and true man.
… great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1Timothy 3:16
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9
We believe in the original apostolic plan of salvation: As given by the apostle Peter on the original day of Pentecost, when he told the men of Israel they had crucified Jesus, who was both Lord and Christ. Their hearts stricken they asked Peter, ” what must we do to be saved?”
Now when they heard this they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
The modern plan of salvation is the same plan as found in the the book of Acts. Repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues just as the early believers did in the New Testament.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for today, which empowers us, gives gifts and comforts us. It is the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, the earnest and seal of our inheritance.
We believe in holiness both inward and outward. A separation of ourselves from the world. We are exclusively reserved to God as kings and priests. We dedicate of our time, talent and finances to advance the kingdom of God on earth.
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Hebrews 12:14
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:
Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ for his saints. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. They that are saved unto the resurrection of life and They that are lost to the resurrection of judgment.
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Titus 2:13
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14:12
…that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. Acts 24:15
… we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. John 5:28-29
